The internet is a notoriously grey area when it comes to issues of copyright and the abuse or unauthorised use of material without the consent of the owner of the intellectual property rights. The Escape to Victory website is a not-for-profit site run purely as a reference for fans of the film. It has been my mission with this site to provide readers with a wide range of content asscociated with, and about the film "Escape to Victory", which is done on a purely for fun basis, Whilst every step has been taken to contact the relevant copyright owners, and all material is properly sourced and credited, it has been occasionally not possible to contact them all. I wish to make clear the point again that this site is purely run on a non profit basis, I dont make any money out of it, and I am doing my best to ensure this site remains advert free. Like most of the websites on the internet, were copyright laws stringently upheld, there would be no personal fan sites such as this, and probably no internet sites at all, other than corporate sites. The internet was founded on the principle of the free exchange of ideas for educational and research purposes, and Ive tried to uphold this concept. In defence of this I claim simply that the material on this site is in the public interest, and that no money is made from it. Still should any potential owner of said material have a problem with its use on this site, then they can contact me here and I will remove the material immediately should they so desire. I hope however they see my point of view and allow me to continue to provide as broad a range of content as possible for fans of the film. Thank you.
